Nam Seong Mo of 82Major Joins ‘Show Champion’ as New MC Amid Rising Global Popularity
Nam Seong Mo, a standout member of rising K-pop group 82Major, has been officially announced as the new MC of the Korean music show ‘Show Champion’, which airs on MBC M. This marks his debut as a music show host, signaling an exciting new chapter in his career.
According to his agency, Great M Entertainment, Nam Seong Mo will serve as the 9th official MC of Show Champion, teaming up with Jeon Min Wook and Jang Yeo Jun of the group Close Your Eyes. Known for his commanding raps and distinct tone, Nam has contributed significantly to 82Major’s musical identity both as a rapper and producer.
Nam expressed his determination to bring his trademark wit and unfiltered honesty to the show, engaging audiences with his natural charisma. His appointment follows a wave of success for 82Major, whose third mini-album ‘SILENCE SYNDROME’ made waves on the international charts. The album ranked #1 on Greece’s iTunes K-pop daily track chart and secured top positions in two countries’ charts.
Notably, ‘SILENCE SYNDROME’ entered the top album charts in four countries and also charted high on Apple Music across three nations, further solidifying 82Major’s global appeal.
In addition, the group reached a career milestone as their recent sales doubled compared to their previous release ‘X-82’. Meanwhile, the music video for their track “혀끝 (Stuck)” surpassed 10 million views, and their latest single “뭘 봐 (TAKEOVER)” quickly hit 7 million views, showcasing their growing fanbase worldwide.
‘Show Champion’, now under the fresh and dynamic MC leadership of Nam Seong Mo, will air every Wednesday at 5 PM starting from the 14th on MBC M.
