How ‘Bangpan Music: On-the-Go’ Brings Music and Culture to Different Towns
A Festive Start in Mungyeong
The music road show ‘Bangpan Music: On-the-Go’ celebrated a festive holiday event in Mungyeong. The third episode aired on KBS 2TV on September 14, showcasing musicians’ first local tour to Mungyeong after completing a live sales event at Konkuk University.
#### Musical Collaboration with Students
Musicians including Lee Chan-won, Hanhae, Forestella, Gureum, Gyro, and guest So Hyang joined university students for a special collaboration. Their harmonious performance of ‘Red Sunset’ marked the final stage of Konkuk University’s music competition.
With their arms around the youths, the band members created an echoing melody that resonated deeply, even reaching the viewers at home.
#### A Surprise Performance at a Ssirum Tournament
Following the university event, the ‘Bangpan Music: On-the-Go’ team traveled to the Mungyeong gymnasium, home to the Dano Festival’s ssirum tournament, to offer a surprise performance for wrestlers and audience members.
Lee Chan-won performed ‘Cheon Hajang Sa’ exuding energy and charisma as he cheered on the athletes. Hanhae delivered a rough and engaging rendition of ‘Yain’, the theme song from the drama ‘Age of Warriors’, complete with his signature strong vocal tones.
Unique to the show was an exclusive duet performance. Wendy, the sole female member, paired with Hanhae, demonstrating their explosive rap and singing skills with the iconic late-90s song ‘Warning’. Meanwhile, Danny Koo and Wendy’s harmonious mix of powerful and refreshing vocals in ‘Uriui Kkum’ heated up the atmosphere.
The members circled the wrestling ring, concluding the show with a lively performance of ‘Butterfly’. Lee Chan-won, Wendy, Hanhae, and Danny Koo captivated both athletes and spectators by engaging with them up close, delivering heartfelt performances.
#### Discovering More of Mungyeong’s Charms
The journey in Mungyeong continued with a village banquet in Omija Town, where the ‘Bangpan Music: On-the-Go’ team resumed their door-to-door music sales.
Expressing confidence, Lee Chan-won said, “The elderly are my main audience,” as he challenged himself to become the top seller.
After chanting their team slogan, members entered the village banquet over the Geumcheon stepping stones, enjoying ample food and Omija rice wine. Their rich song choices and lively performances infused excitement into the town’s residents.
Hanhae took a unique approach to the trot song ‘Dangdolhan Woman’ by reinterpreting it with Danny Koo’s violin backing. Wendy and Lee Chan-won delivered a duet of ‘Eve’s Warning’, where Lee Chan-won executed the rap parts and signature choreography, getting everyone on their feet.
Guest star and the youngest member of the day, trot prodigy Hwang Min-ho, impressed with his powerful vocals while performing ‘Jindo Arirang’. For the first time during filming, he received allowance money, warmly reciprocating with an energetic set.
