Monsta X’s Shownu and Steve Aoki Deliver an Electrifying Surprise at 2025 EDC Korea
Veteran Monsta X member Shownu stunned fans by joining world-renowned DJ and producer Steve Aoki on stage at the 2025 EDC Korea held at Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon, Korea, on the 25th.
Without prior notice, Shownu made a surprise appearance during Aoki’s set, dancing and performing a live rendition of “Play It Cool”, a collaborative track from Monsta X’s second album Take.2 ‘We Are Here’. Their synergy reignited memories of their previous joint performances and electrified the crowd, making the Friday night unforgettable.
This isn’t the first time Shownu and Aoki have shared the stage. In 2019, Monsta X and Steve Aoki gave a collaborative performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival 2019 in Las Vegas. Later that year, they reunited at the MDL Beast Fest in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, showcasing perfect chemistry and captivating audiences once again.
This latest performance marks their first joint appearance in five years, made possible by Aoki’s personal invitation during his visit to Korea. The special moment was immortalized on social media, with Aoki posting a video and Shownu sharing photos via the Monsta X Official SNS, much to the delight of their fans.
Meanwhile, Shownu continues to diversify his career. He successfully debuted in musical theater with the production Great Comet and served as the main MC for the YouTube web variety show No Mercy, earning a Digital Content Award at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards.
Earlier this year, Shownu graced the runway at Milan Fashion Week as an ambassador for the French premium lifestyle brand K-WAY®, further cementing his influence in the fashion industry.
With Monsta X approaching their 10th debut anniversary on May 14, the group is preparing to celebrate with more activities and fan interactions on the horizon.
