MONSTA X Celebrates 10th Anniversary with ‘Now Project vol.1’ Album
Global K-pop sensation MONSTA X is set to commemorate their 10th anniversary with the release of a digital album titled Now Project vol.1. Starship Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced on their official social media on the 5th that the album will drop on May 14 at 12 PM KST — exactly 10 years since their debut with the mini album Trespass.
The title ‘NOW’ carries a dual meaning: it stands for the present moment while also cleverly referencing the group’s name by inverting ‘MON’. This album reflects MONSTA X’s identity in the present tense, embodying their journey and evolution over the last decade.
Comprised of 10 tracks, Now Project vol.1 features re-recordings of some of MONSTA X’s most iconic title tracks and B-sides released between 2021 and 2023. These tracks have been refreshed with the vocals of all six members, including those who were previously absent due to military service, delivering a heartfelt gift to their devoted fanbase, Monbebe.
Far from a typical anniversary compilation, the album weaves MONSTA X’s legacy into the present. Each track not only recalls a key moment in the group’s timeline but also offers emotions and messages that remain relevant today. It marks Chapter One of a new era, demonstrating that MONSTA X exists not merely as a memory, but as a dynamic and ongoing presence.
MONSTA X debuted in May 2015 with the mini album Trespass, quickly gaining recognition for their intense choreography and strong performance concepts. Over the years, they’ve evolved into a globally renowned act, amassing a loyal international following with their uniquely powerful sound and stage presence.
Known as one of the most reliable live performers in K-pop, MONSTA X has frequently been lauded for their impeccable vocals and rap skills, earning them the nickname ‘믿듣퍼’ — short for “Performance Masters You Can Trust and Listen to.” Their global credibility rose further when they became the first K-pop group to join the Jingle Ball U.S. tour hosted by iHeartRadio in 2018, returning again in 2019 and 2021.
The group entered a military service hiatus starting with leader Shonu in 2021, with the exception of I.M. Despite their temporary separation, the group continued to maintain fans’ interest through unit promotions and solo activities, keeping the MONSTA X brand alive and thriving. Their reality show “Monm Caribbean Chicken” on their YouTube channel recently featured five members, further teasing the group’s full return.
On May 13, Hyungwon is expected to complete his military service, reuniting all six members. The very next day, MONSTA X will release Now Project vol.1, officially beginning the next phase of their career and honoring a decade of musical milestones and fan dedication.
With a renewed lineup and deep-rooted passion, MONSTA X continues to prove that their story is far from over—it’s just getting started.
