MONSTA X Returns as One: A Decade in the Making
K-pop supergroup MONSTA X (SHOWNU, MINHYUK, KIHYUN, HYUNGWON, JOOHONEY, I.M) is back with their full lineup for the first time in nearly four years. On June 14, the day of their 10th debut anniversary, MONSTA X will drop a digital album titled NOW PROJECT vol.1, released through major streaming platforms under their label, Starship Entertainment.
A Reunion for the Ages
The group’s last release as a full unit was the mini-album One Of A Kind in June 2021. Since then, member enlistments led to a hiatus in group activities. Now, with HYUNGWON’s recent discharge, the lineup is finally whole again. Fans, affectionately known as Monbebe, have long awaited this moment, fueling anticipation for the album’s release.
Reimagining Their Journey
NOW PROJECT vol.1 features 10 tracks, including revamped versions of hit title tracks like Rush Hour, LOVE, and Beautiful Liar. These songs were originally performed during the group’s partial lineup years when SHOWNU was serving in the military. His return brings a fresh layer to the group’s harmonies, blending his signature tone with the evolved vocals of his bandmates.
A True ‘Self-Made’ Record
All ten songs in the album are not only fan favorites but also carry deeper meaning as each was co-written, co-composed, or arranged by the members themselves. These include a spectrum of sounds—from upbeat disco-funk to introspective ballads with heartfelt piano melodies—showcasing the group’s depth and musical maturity.
