Leeseo Joins Namkoong Min and Jeon Yeo-been in SBS Drama ‘Our Movie’
Leeseo, a rising talent in the Korean drama scene, has been officially cast in the upcoming SBS weekend drama ‘Our Movie’, slated to premiere on June 13 at 9:50 PM KST. According to her agency Beyond J on the 20th, Leeseo will take on the role of Kim Jung-woo, a beloved top star in the highly anticipated romantic melodrama.
‘Our Movie’ tells a timeless love story between a director living without a future, Lee Jae-ha (played by Namkoong Min), and an actress who faces her last day, Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-been). The show is gaining buzz for bringing together two of Korea’s most respected actors in a powerful new pairing.
Leeseo’s character, Kim Jung-woo, is the charming leading man of the fictional film ‘White Love’ and the boyfriend of actress Chae Seo-young (played by Lee Seol). Interestingly, both Kim Jung-woo and Chae Seo-young debuted as supporting actors in director Lee Jae-ha’s debut indie film ‘Cleaning’ five years earlier. Now, Jung-woo finds himself torn between his love, his fear of her past involvement with now-veteran director Lee Jae-ha, and his own suppressed emotions.
Speaking about the new project, Leeseo commented, “I’m thrilled to portray a current top star who’s used to loving and being loved. I’ll work hard to present a solid performance and deliver a great drama for our viewers.”
This role marks Leeseo’s first collaboration with seasoned stars Namkoong Min and Jeon Yeo-been, and fans are eager to see the fresh chemistry she’ll bring to the screen. Her past works include KBS 2TV’s ‘Drama Special 2023 – Overlap Knife, Knife’, Disney+’s ‘Say It’s Love’, and JTBC’s ‘Poet’s Love’. Most recently, she showcased her acting range in tvN’s hit weekend drama ‘Unpredictable Intern’ as ER resident Park Jun-seok, earning praise for her grounded voice and refreshing visual presence.
‘Our Movie’ is directed by Lee Jung-hum and written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, produced by Studio S and Beyond J. With its star-studded lineup and poignant love story, the drama promises to captivate audiences both in Korea and abroad.
