South Korean actress Lee Yu-bi is officially returning to the small screen, reprising her beloved role as Ruby in the upcoming Yumi’s Cells Season 3.

According to reports on the 20th, Lee is currently finalizing scheduling details with the production team to join the cast once again. She previously played Ruby in both Yumi’s Cells Season 1 and Season 2, leaving a lasting impression with her dynamic transformation from quirky colleague to loyal friend.

The third installment in the Yumi’s Cells series continues the story of Yumi, portrayed by Kim Go-eun, who navigates love and career as a rising star author, told through the lively interactions of the various “cells” in her mind. Actor Kim Jae-won joins the cast this season, adding fresh chemistry to the much-anticipated drama.

Lee Yu-bi’s character, Ruby, started off as a competitive co-worker but evolved into a warm and supportive friend to Yumi, becoming a fan favorite for her sincere and humorous portrayal.

Lee Yu-bi made her acting debut in 2011 with the sitcom Vampire Idol, and has since garnered acclaim with diverse roles in dramas like Gu Family Book, To You Who Forgot Poetry, and the Yumi’s Cells series. Her appearance in Yumi’s Cells Season 3 marks her return to the drama scene after a two-year hiatus.

She is also known for her strong showbiz lineage. Lee is the daughter of veteran actress 견미리, sister to Lee Da-in, and in-law of singer-actor Lee Seung-gi.

With her return, fans are buzzing with excitement to see how Ruby’s character will grow and influence Yumi’s journey in Season 3.
