Lee Min-jung Transforms into One-Day Fisher in ‘Heart on Wheels’
Actress Lee Min-jung is taking on an unexpected new role—as a one-day fisherwoman—in the debut episode of KBS 2TV’s travel-reality series Heart on Wheels: Lee Min-jung. Premiering on June 16, the show kicks off with Lee, along with Boom, Ahn Jae-hyun, Kim Jung-hyun, and Kim Jae-won—dubbed the ‘sibling crew’—running a mobile convenience store on Hyodado island.
Loaded with essentials in a 3.5-ton ‘super car’, the team brings smiles and support to the islanders. But their goodwill mission doesn’t end there. At the call of the village chief, Lee Min-jung and the others head to the pier to experience sand eel fishing for the very first time.
Excitement is in the air as the group boards a fishing boat, eager to haul in their own catch. But reality sets in quickly. The task? Pulling up nets heavy with sand eels. Despite the grueling challenge and the setting sun dimming their efforts, the ‘sibling crew’ perseveres, proving their team spirit and grit.
Even after hauling in nets, Lee and her teammates get their hands dirty sorting the slippery sand eels. As fatigue sets in, the village chief jokes, “You should’ve married an islander.” Lee responds playfully, “Between fishing and parenting, parenting is harder.”
In a touching moment, Lee Min-jung bonds with Boom over their shared experiences as doting parents. Lee is the mother of a 16-month-old daughter, while Boom has a 13-month-old daughter. Their heartfelt ‘proud parent’ chat adds emotional depth to the premiere, sparking curiosity about what more is to come.
Heart on Wheels: Lee Min-jung airs its first episode on June 16 at 9:50 PM KST on KBS 2TV.
