Lee Jun Young Rediscovers His Love for Dance in the Midst of His Acting Career

Lee Jun Young reflects on his freestyle dance journey during Weak Hero Class 2 promotion

Lee Jun Young, a rising actor and former member of U-KISS, recently opened up about his enduring love for dance, despite his growing success on screen. On May 10, the popular YouTube channel Cheonggye Mountain Daeng Records aired a special featuring the main cast of Netflix’s ‘Weak Hero Class 2’: Park Ji Hoon, Lee Jun Young, and Yoo Soo Bin.

The segment was hosted by Jo Jung Suk’s entertaining alter ego, Jo Jeom Seok, who led the interview with lighthearted and honest conversations. When asked, “What was the most cinematic moment of your life so far?” Lee Jun Young paused before answering, “I recently competed in a freestyle hip hop dance battle and surprisingly made it to the top 16.”

He continued, “Before I started acting, I pursued dance. Even after becoming an actor, I never stopped dancing whenever I had the chance. During the finals, I found myself staring at the ceiling and suddenly felt melancholic. My heart started racing and I thought to myself, ‘I still really love dancing. I love this movement.’ It felt amazing to realize that.”

Lee also reflected on how dancing has positively influenced his acting: “It definitely helps me when I act,” he admitted. Jo Jeom Seok responded warmly, “I hope you continue dancing diligently.”

Since transitioning into acting, Lee Jun Young has steadily built a notable filmography. He has appeared in a string of well-received productions, including the February release of Netflix series Melomovies, March’s Let’s Get Grabbed, April’s action thriller ‘Weak Hero Class 2’, and the drama ’24-Hour Fitness Club’. With each new role, he continues to earn acclaim and strengthen his reputation as one of Korea’s top actors on the global stage.
