Renowned singer-songwriter Kwon Jin-ah recently took part in an exclusive photoshoot for the July issue of ELLE magazine, showcasing her vibrant and confident new persona. The shoot aimed to capture a fresh side of Kwon as she embarks on new chapters in her career.
Following the shoot, Kwon Jin-ah shared insights during an interview about her active schedule of solo concerts and music festivals. When asked about her busy stage life, Kwon expressed, “People often comment on how tiring it must be, but it’s actually the audience that powers me up. Every performance is exciting, and I look forward to them with a thought of living this way forever.”
As she approaches her late 20s, Kwon humorously noted the youthful energy of university festival audiences, saying, “Performing at these events, I’m reminded of how young everyone is!”
Embracing Change and Growth
Kwon Jin-ah recently released her first full-length album in six years, The Dreamest, and established her own label, Another Label. Speaking about these milestones, she said, “Although my surroundings have changed slightly, I continue to work on my art as I always have. The new responsibilities and the motivation to not rest on my laurels have increased, but I’ve realized that enjoying one’s craft is unbeatable. Watching other artists immerse themselves in their music inspires me greatly. I hope to continue enjoying music for a long time.”
Kwon’s music resonates with many due to its introspective nature. About the reasons her songs are cherished, she shared, “I think it’s because they draw out my vulnerabilities. We rarely have the opportunity to explore our innermost feelings and vulnerabilities, especially in our daily lives. Through my music, listeners can connect with and comfort themselves.”
Looking Forward to New Releases
After the success of her solo concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, Kwon is preparing to capture ears once more with a new single this summer. Her distinctive presence as a singer-songwriter promises more captivating music for her audience.
