Kwon Jin Ah Embarks on New Chapter with ‘The Dreamest’ After Leaving Antenna Music
After a decade with Antenna Music, Korean singer-songwriter Kwon Jin Ah is entering a new era of her music career. The artist recently sat down at a café in Seoul’s Seodaemun District on April 25th to celebrate the release of her third full-length album, ‘The Dreamest’.
Serving as her first studio album in six years, since 2019’s ‘Shape of Me’ (official English title not defined), ‘The Dreamest’ marks a symbolic rebirth for Kwon as both an artist and a creative entrepreneur. Having closed her exclusive contract with Antenna Music in February, she returns under a new label named Another (no official English title), which she helped establish to take greater creative control over her work.
“I was with Antenna for 10 years,” she shared during the press event. “As I entered the end of my twenties, I felt the urge for a new challenge. One of my long-standing dreams was to have my own label, and now I’ve made that a reality.”
Kwon emphasized that with a support system that believed in her vision, the creative process behind the album felt freer than ever. “This time, I felt emotionally healthy and really at peace,” she said. “Many people helped me in the journey to releasing this album, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Reflecting on her time with Antenna Music, Kwon affirms, “I learned so much there—from how to write songs, to how to embed stories inside music, and most importantly, how to maintain my artistic identity.” She credited her former mentor, You Hee-yeol, founder of Antenna, saying, “He told me, ‘It will be tough, but I’ll always be here to help.’ I’ve learned a lot from him and I’m truly thankful.”
The album title, ‘The Dreamest’, is a superlative take on the concept of dreaming — representing endless ambition and the pursuit of the ultimate vision. The 10-track record includes dual title tracks, “Reunion” and “Let Me Go,” showcasing Kwon’s signature emotional vocal style and lyricism.
‘The Dreamest’ is set for release at 6 p.m. local time on April 25th and marks not just a comeback, but a bold step forward in Kwon Jin Ah’s artistic journey.
