KPop Rising Star Choi Sooho Wows Fans with Surprise Busking Show at Mungyeongsaejae

Rising trot star Choi Sooho thrills fans with live music at Mungyeongsaejae in North Gyeongsang

Korean rising trot star Choi Sooho turned a scenic historical site into a musical stage, captivating both fans and viewers with his surprise busking concert at Mungyeongsaejae in North Gyeongsang Province. The broadcast aired on MBN‘s Hanil Top Ten Show, featuring Choi’s vibrant vocals and charming on-screen presence.

In the June 6 episode, Choi Sooho and fellow artists from the popular group Hyeonyaekgawang 2 went on a bonding trip to Mungyeong. From devouring specialty local dishes like yakdol pork, deodeok grilled roots, and foot meat stew in a hilarious food challenge, to competing in a high-stakes ribbon game on the vertigo-inducing Bongmyeongsan Suspension Bridge, Choi showed his versatility as both a singer and a variety star. Although he secured multiple ribbons, he failed to return in time—sending the ingredients overboard and collapsing in laughter, entertaining viewers.

The show also included a pottery experience, where Choi demonstrated masterful hand skills crafting a teacup, gaining admiration for his concentration and finesse.

However, the highlight was Choi’s impromptu busking session set against the serene landscape of Mungyeongsaejae. Performing group classics such as Jin Si-mon’s “Boyak Gat-eun Chingu,” Kim Hye-yeon’s iconic “Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan,” and a duet with Jin Hae-seong for Choi Seok-jun’s “Kkotip Sarang,” Choi’s rich, unwavering vocals ignited passion among local fans.

Post-performance, he was praised for his stage presence and emotional delivery, reaffirming his standing as one of the breakout stars in trot music. This live event follows his recent comeback on May 5 with his debut mini album ONE, featuring the title song “Kkeutkkaji Ganda.”

From traditional experiences and playful variety content to soul-touching performances, Choi Sooho has woven a perfect entertainment collage that resonates with audiences of all ages.
