Korean Comedian Park Na-rae Reveals Details of House Burglary in Hannam-dong

Comedian Park Na-rae uncovers home burglary details and rumor ordeal in Hannamdong

Korean comedian Park Na-rae has opened up for the first time about the details of a burglary that recently occurred at her home in Hannam-dong, a luxurious neighborhood in Seoul’s Yongsan District.

During a recent episode of her YouTube channel ‘Naraesik’, Park was joined by actress Jo Bo-ah, with whom she shares a close friendship stemming from their appearances on the reality show ‘신세계로부터’ (Shinsegae Group TV show). On the show, Jo jokingly asked if Park had been avoiding her, noting her absence from tvN’s popular variety show ‘Amazing Saturday’ where Park is a regular cast member.

Park explained that her absence was due to a burglary that had taken place at her residence, and she chose the moment to publicly break her silence on the incident.

“I was preparing for a wedding photoshoot for fellow comedian Kim Ji-min, who is set to marry this July,” Park recounted. “As I went to retrieve my most expensive handbag from my closet, I noticed it was missing. That’s when I realized several valuable items had vanished.”

Suspicious and heartbroken, Park confided in a close friend who guessed the stolen items may have been sold to a secondhand luxury store. Park stayed up all night searching online and successfully found her handbag listed for sale. The bag’s color and model exactly matched what had gone missing.

Thanks to her quick reaction, Park reported the crime to authorities at once. Soon after, news began to spread online, sparking both concern and wild speculation.

The burglary occurred on July 7 at Park’s home, which gained fame through her appearance on the reality show ‘I Live Alone’. It was later confirmed by the Yongsan Police Station that high-value items, including jewelry and designer bags worth tens of millions of Korean won, were stolen.

As there were no signs of forced entry, rumors of an inside job began to circulate. Park was even subjected to false accusations linking close friend and fellow comedian Jang Do-yeon to the incident—a claim that caused distress to both parties.

Fortunately, the National Police Agency Investigations Bureau apprehended the suspect. According to officials, the thief—referred to as Mr. A—is a man in his 30s who entered the home from outside before fleeing with valuables. He has since been arrested and is under investigation.

Park expressed relief that justice was being served and apologized to Jo Bo-ah for disrupted filming schedules due to the incident. Despite the emotional toll, she appears optimistic as she moves forward, with the case now in legal hands.
