Korean Broadcaster Kim Na-jeong Resurfaces on Social Media Amid Drug Allegations

Kim Na jeong posts new photos on social media after facing drug allegations in the Philippines

Freelance Korean broadcaster Kim Na-jeong is drawing attention again as she returned to social media nearly four months after being referred to the prosecution over alleged drug use in the Philippines.

On May 20, Kim Na-jeong posted a series of photos on her personal social media account without any caption. In the pictures, she is seen with a new bob haircut and wearing a sleeveless white top, striking poses that reflect a confident presence.

This is the first time Kim Na-jeong has resumed online activity since she was non-detained and transferred to prosecutors in January.

Back in November last year, Kim shocked fans and followers when she publicly confessed via her social media that she had used drugs while in the Philippines. She claimed at the time, “I’m confessing that I took drugs in the Philippines. I feel like I’m going to die, so I can’t board the plane.”

Upon returning to South Korea, Kim was questioned by the Airport Police at Incheon International Airport. She asserted that she had been coerced into drug use by a young local entrepreneur she had met in the Philippines. However, local authorities concluded there was insufficient evidence to prove coercion.

As a result, Kim Na-jeong was transferred to the prosecution on charges of using methamphetamine and synthetic cannabis, though she remains non-detained.

Following the news, her legal representatives released a statement expressing frustration, pointing out that the investigation proceeded without hearing from critical witnesses. A close associate explained, “It’s understandable that the victim couldn’t preserve any evidence. That does not justify closing the case without deeper investigation.”
