Kim Min-seok and Lee Hyun-wook Face Off in Explosive ‘Shark: The Storm’ Showdown
Tving is bringing back its action-packed original with the launch of Shark: The Storm, directed by Kim Geon and written by Min-ji. As a follow-up to the 2021 webtoon-based film Shark: The Beginning, this six-part series sees Kim Min-seok and Lee Hyun-wook return for a brutal fight that pushes them both to the edge.
The series marks a dramatic continuation of Cha Woo-sol’s evolution—from a fragile boy to a fierce fighter. Having served time behind bars, he now faces his greatest challenge: Hyeon Woo-yong, a cold-blooded villain masquerading as the president of a national MMA federation. What follows is a relentless clash of wills, strength, and survival instinct that pits purpose against cruelty.
The newly released “Combat Action Poster” captures the raw adrenaline of their clash. Kim Min-seok’s Cha Woo-sol is seen with steely resolve in his eyes, fists raised with unshakable determination to protect what matters most. Lee Hyun-wook’s Hyeon Woo-yong exudes a menacing calm, reading his opponent like a predator stalking its prey. His brute strength and chilling charisma make him a dominant force in Woo-sol’s storm-wracked journey.
Director Kim Geon likened Woo-sol to a shark—once drawn into Woo-yong’s world, he cannot stop fighting. “He finds himself in a no-return battle that will push him from youth to manhood. The sharp contrast in action styles between Kim Min-seok and Lee Hyun-wook delivers an emotionally intense synergy,” he said.
As Cha Woo-sol steps into the brutal arena built by Hyeon Woo-yong, the stakes become clear: this is not merely about winning, but surviving and realizing his dream of becoming an MMA legend. The tagline, ‘The fight of two men begins,’ sets the tone for a heart-pounding ride of redemption, fury, and strength.
Shark: The Storm premieres in its entirety on Tving on the 15th.
