KDrama Star Finds Comfort in Korean Food During Stay in Prague
Korean actress Kim Ji-soo recently delighted fans by sharing glimpses of her current life in Europe. On June 11, she posted a meaningful message along with several photos on her Instagram, updating fans on how she’s adapting to daily life in Prague.
“Some people have asked in the comments if I miss Korean food. Honestly, I cook a lot of Korean dishes here after grocery shopping,” Kim wrote. She praised the convenience of local shopping systems in the Czech Republic, mentioning that shopping apps allow her to collect store points even without a local phone number.
Though she misses certain unique ingredients only found in Korea, Kim finds joy in buying food in Europe. “Grocery baskets in Germany and the Czech Republic come with more affordable prices than in Korea, making shopping a fun experience,” she shared. “Instead of preparing many side dishes in advance, I make a stew, soup, or one to two simple banchan dishes whenever I feel like it. Even a simple homemade Korean meal becomes incredibly tasty abroad.”
Kim highlighted the value of simplicity abroad, saying, “Even a single slice of kimchi becomes precious and appreciated.”
Looking forward to helping her followers, she added, “In the next post, I’ll share some delicious fruit brands and dessert snacks you can find in Prague. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or staying for a month, exploring the local supermarkets becomes part of the travel experience.”
Kim praised Prague as the ultimate healing destination, emphasizing the active lifestyle. “When walking around Europe, I easily hit between 12,000 to 15,000 steps a day, so it’s important to eat well,” she noted.
The actress has been residing in Europe since last year. Reflecting on her career, she expressed deep gratitude for her 2024 role in the drama Romance in the House, remembering her character Ae-yeon fondly. “It was a year filled with sincere emotion, and I hope to find a project that moves my heart in 2025,” she shared.
