K-Pop Star BIBI Reflects on Her Breakthrough Year in Music and Film
On the latest episode of KBS2’s The Seasons – Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, South Korean singer and actress BIBI (Kim Hyung-seo) made a heartfelt appearance to discuss her transformative year in entertainment.
Returning with her second full-length album after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, BIBI sat down with MC Park Bo-gum for an engaging and emotional conversation.
Park highlighted her impressive achievements in 2023, including topping music charts with her hit single “Bamyanggaeng” and earning the Best Newcomer Award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for her role in the film “Hwaran”. Additionally, she received the Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards for her performance in Priest 2. “It felt like last year truly belonged to you,” Park remarked. “How was it for you?”
In response, BIBI opened up, saying, “Honestly, it doesn’t feel real. It’s like I was living in a movie. The love I received for both my music and acting melted away a lifetime of self-doubt. It’s amazing how that disappeared like snow.”
She went on to express deep gratitude, adding, “This must be the power of love. I’m always thankful.” Her message resonated with fans as a sincere expression of her emotional and professional journey.
During the episode, BIBI also paid tribute to the song that gave her strength during tough times—“7beon Gukdo” by Jung Mi-jo. Her performance captivated the audience with its delicate emotional layers and honeyed vocals, even moving Park Bo-gum.
