K-Pop Sensation IVE Debuts on Japanese Drama Soundtrack with ‘DARE ME’
Global K-pop powerhouse IVE (An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Won-young, Liz, and Leeseo) has officially debuted on a Japanese drama soundtrack with their original single ‘DARE ME’. The song premiered on April 20 as the opening theme for NTV’s new Sunday drama ‘Dame Mané! – Unsuccessful Talent, Managed!’, and was released across major global streaming platforms the following day.
‘DARE ME’ is IVE’s first Japanese original soundtrack, created exclusively for ‘Dame Mané!’. With the message “You’re perfect just as you are, no need for comparison,” the track delivers an empowering anthem of self-acceptance and positive energy. It captures the vibrant momentum of the drama while resonating deeply with fans worldwide.
This marks the first time since their 2021 debut that IVE has contributed a group OST for a television series. IVE’s involvement is a testament to their ever-growing global presence, setting the tone for the drama’s vibrant energy and boosting viewer immersion from the very start.
Through their management, IVE stated, “We’re so grateful for the opportunity to participate in the OST of a Japanese drama for the first time. It’s an emotional milestone for us to sing a drama OST as a group. We hope fans will show lots of love for our new song ‘DARE ME’ and for the drama ‘Dame Mané!’.”
The drama ‘Dame Mané!’ tells the story of a former child prodigy actress turned rookie manager, who helps struggling talents revive their careers using her sharp insight and acting skills. Characterized as a life-revenge comedy, it’s already gaining attention for its unique storyline and charismatic lead.
‘DARE ME’ also made strong chart performances upon its release, securing spots on the Melon HOT100 for new releases in Korea and Japan’s top chart Line Music’s real-time and daily rankings as of April 21. The track’s immediate success reflects IVE’s robust global fanbase and its cross-cultural appeal.
In addition to their musical milestone, IVE is continuing their activities in Japan and is scheduled to hold the ‘IVE SCOUT in Japan’ concert in Marine Messe Fukuoka today, April 22, as a part of their fan-con tour.
‘DARE ME’ is now available on all major global music platforms, drawing fans of both K-pop and Japanese dramas together for a new experience of pop and storytelling synergy.
