K-pop Sensation I.O.I in Talks for 10th Anniversary Comeback

I.O.I members in talks to reunite and release new music in time for their 10 year debut anniversary

Nearly a decade after taking the K-pop world by storm, project girl group I.O.I is making headlines again as talks of a 10th-anniversary reunion gain momentum. According to industry insiders, members of the beloved group have initiated discussions for a joint comeback in 2026, which would mark ten years since their official debut.

Originally formed through Mnet’s survival audition show Produce 101 in 2016, I.O.I was a temporary project group made up of the top 11 contestants out of 101 trainees. Notable members include Kim Se-jeong, Jeon So-mi, Chungha, Choi Yoo-jung, and Jung Chae-yeon. Though their official activities wrapped in 2017, fans never stopped hoping for a return.

Reunion talks initially surfaced in 2019, but the plans were shelved following controversies over vote manipulation on the original TV show. However, the upcoming 10th anniversary has reignited hope, with members themselves taking the initiative to make it happen, viewing the project as a sincere tribute to their dedicated fanbase.

Recent meetings between individual members’ agencies have reportedly taken place to narrow down timing and logistics for group activities. An insider close to the situation noted, “Because each member is signed to a different agency, the coordination process is naturally complex. Still, their enthusiasm is strong, and everyone wants to make it work.”

Although nothing has been confirmed publicly, this potential comeback could bring a fresh wave of nostalgia and excitement to both longtime fans and the newer generation discovering I.O.I.
