K-Pop Rising Stars NEXZ Make Fiery Return With ‘Simmer’ on Major Music Shows

NEXZ ignites stage with Simmer performances on Show Champion Music Bank Inkigayo and more

JYP Entertainment’s rookie boy group NEXZ is turning up the heat as they begin promotions for their electrifying B-side track ‘Simmer‘ from their newly released second mini-album ‘O-RLY?’.

After dropping their EP on May 28, NEXZ—consisting of Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, So Gun, Seita, Huey, and Yuki—impressed fans and critics alike by climbing to the top of Korea’s real-time music charts and becoming nominees for first place on music shows with their titular track ‘O-RLY?’. Now, their follow-up song ‘Simmer’ is set to shine across a week packed with performances.

The group will bring the high-tension energy of ‘Simmer’ to life on stage with appearances on MBC M’s Show! Champion (June 21), Mnet’s M Countdown (June 22), KBS2’s Music Bank (June 23), MBC’s Show! Music Core (June 24), and SBS’s Inkigayo (June 25).

Simmer‘ takes its title from a cooking term referring to maintaining heat just below boiling point, metaphorically capturing the track’s underlying tension and evolving intensity. As a hip-hop number, it showcases NEXZ’s explosive energy and unwavering ambition, brought to life through punchy beats, sharp sound design, and rapid-fire raps.

Fans first got a taste of the full version of ‘Simmer’ before the album’s official release, via a visually striking and playfully directed music video. Highlighting the group’s signature flair, the music video featured impressive choreography co-created by members Tomoya, Yuu, and Haru, with stylings that offered a bold twist on school uniforms. The performance video shared via NEXZ Official SNS on June 12 created a major buzz among international fans, who have since called for more stages featuring ‘Simmer.’

With mounting excitement, NEXZ is ramping up their broadcast performances, solidifying their reputation as a “next-generation stage powerhouse.” Their restrained yet magnetic stage presence promises to captivate audiences again and again.

Meanwhile, as they celebrate their global debut 1st anniversary, NEXZ is preparing to launch their first-ever Japanese live tour, titled ‘NEXZ LIVE TOUR 2025 “One Bite”‘ starting in June. The group will hit a major milestone in July with a solo show at the legendary Budokan, an iconic venue in Japan’s pop music history—marking a meteoric rise less than a year after their official Japanese debut.

NEXZ’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down as they continue setting new milestones both domestically and internationally.
