K-Pop Rising Star Choi Soo-ho Reignites 90s Nostalgia on Korea-Japan Top Ten Show

Choi Soo-ho dazzles with emotional and energetic stages from classic ballads to K-pop originals

On June 13, rising K-pop artist Choi Soo-ho made a dazzling appearance on MBN’s beloved music program, Korea-Japan Top Ten Show, captivating the audience with a performance that transcended decades. Taking part in the special segment titled “Reply 1999”, the special featured hits from the late 90s and early 2000s with a showdown between King of Trot Season 1 and King of Trot Season 2 teams, alongside special guests like the legendary band Y2K.

Sporting a shimmering white suit with silver detailing, Choi conveyed both poise and presence as he confidently took the stage. Teaming up with Gang Moon-kyung, he performed a powerful duet of Choi Baek-ho’s classic “Yeongilman Friend,” stirring nostalgia with their harmonic blend and commanding vocal delivery.

He followed up with an emotionally charged solo rendition of Lee Seon-hee’s heart-tugging ballad “Rain Shower (여우비),” originally part of the soundtrack for the popular Korean drama My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Choi noted the personal significance of the song during his time in Japan, adding another layer of sentiment to the already touching performance.

The climax came as he showcased his original song “Go to the End,” the title track from his debut mini-album ONE released last month. His energetic vocals and commanding stage dynamics left the audience energized, marking him as a talent to watch in the evolving K-pop landscape.

Choi Soo-ho continues his musical journey with ongoing promotions for “Go to the End,” promising more emotion-filled performances and a unique voice in the industry.
