K-Pop Icon Soyou Embarks on a New Musical Journey with Magic Strawberry Sound

Soyou, the renowned K-pop vocalist and former member of girl group Sistar, is entering a thrilling new chapter in her career by signing an exclusive contract with the eclectic Korean label Magic Strawberry Sound.

The label officially announced, “We have recently signed with Soyou. As both a vocalist and producer, we will provide our full support so that she can maximize her creative potential across various platforms and genres.”

Since debuting with Sistar in 2010, Soyou has been adored both as a group idol and a solo artist. Her emotionally resonant voice has graced the original soundtracks (OSTs) of blockbuster K-dramas including Love in the Moonlight (구르미 그린 달빛), Goblin (도깨비), and When the Camellia Blooms (동백꽃 필 무렵), propelling the songs to the top of music charts and cementing her status as a digital music powerhouse.

Beyond her vocal talents, Soyou has steadily proven her skills as a producer. Her first step into songwriting came in 2017 with the farewell single “For You” by Sistar. In 2022, she expanded that narrative by including her self-composed track “Tree” in her first solo mini album. Her versatility further shined through songs like “We Walk Towards Goodbye Every Day” (우리는 매일 이별을 향해 걸어가지), “I’ll Be Your Mother’s Mother” (엄마의 엄마가 되어줄게요) and “Goodbye, My Star” (안녕, 나의 별), many of which were featured in projects like Mnet’s Karaoke VS.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Soyou actively connects with fans via her personal YouTube channel, SOYOUGI, where she shares various lifestyle and behind-the-scenes content. She also appears as a commentator on the MBC Every1 crime analysis show Hidden Eye, showcasing her insightful and witty personality.

Joining Magic Strawberry Sound, Soyou becomes labelmates with an impressive roster of artists including Song So-hee, Marrakech, Ahn Da-young, yebit, KONA, and Saemmul, revealing a promising future filled with genre-crossing collaborations and artistic exploration.
