K-Pop Group TWS Scores Gold with ‘TRY WITH US’ Ahead of Japanese Debut

TWS receives gold certification in Japan for TRY WITH US signals strong global presence

K-pop’s rising boy group TWS (Twenty-Four Seven With Us) is making waves in the Japanese music scene even before their official debut. On June 13, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced that TWS’s third mini-album ‘TRY WITH US’ has surpassed 100,000 units in shipments as of April, securing the prestigious Gold certification.

The RIAJ bestows Gold (100K), Platinum (250K), and Double Platinum (500K) certifications based on physical album shipments within a specific month. Adding to the achievement, this marks TWS’s second consecutive Gold certification, following their debut album ‘Last Bell’.

This milestone is particularly significant as it comes just ahead of their official Japanese debut in July, signaling strong anticipation and growing popularity in the region.

‘TRY WITH US’ represents the boundless energy and courage of youth facing new experiences. Its lead single, ‘Isn’t it cool to follow your heart?’, delivers a message of optimism driven by the group’s signature bright and peppy 20-something vibes, resonating with fans globally.

The album landed at No.2 on Oricon’s Weekly Album Ranking and Weekly Combined Album Ranking (as of May 5), while also securing the No.5 spot on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart dated April 30.

Back home, TWS achieved a groundbreaking milestone, sweeping six music show trophies and becoming the first 5th-generation boy group to win a grand slam across all music broadcasts.

TWS is now gearing up for their Japanese debut on July 2 with their debut single ‘Nice to see you again’ (Japanese title: はじめまして). Described as a refreshing ode to sparkling summer memories, the single will feature three tracks, including an original song created exclusively for their Japanese listeners.

With this momentum, TWS is not only making their presence known in K-pop but also paving a strong path toward global stardom.
