K-Pop Group MEOVV Clinches First-Ever Music Show Win on M Countdown with ‘HANDS UP’

Kpop girl group MEOVV achieves first music show win on M Countdown with HANDS UP performance

South Korean girl group MEOVV (Miyao), composed of members Suin, Gawon, Anna, Narin, and Ella, has marked a new milestone in their career by winning their first-ever music show trophy on Mnet’s M Countdown with their high-energy track ‘HANDS UP’.

During the broadcast aired on May 8, MEOVV secured the top spot on the second week chart of May with ‘HANDS UP’, their pre-release single. The song is a fiery blend of Brazilian funk characterised by rapid rhythms, colorful synth layers, and an addictive hook that quickly captured the attention of global K-pop fans.

This triumph marks MEOVV’s first music show win since debuting, and the members shared their heartfelt reactions through an official video message. Narin expressed her joy saying, “Winning 1st place for the first time on a music show feels so surreal and incredibly joyful.”

Suin added, “We’ve worked hard and had fun preparing this comeback, and I’m truly thankful for the love we’ve received.” Anna further commented, “We promise to keep striving and share new, refreshing performances as MEOVV.”

‘HANDS UP’ was originally released on April 28, and its music video soared to the top of YouTube’s trending charts shortly after release. The group maintained momentum with stunning performances on music shows, subsequently climbing major Korean music charts, including Melon’s daily chart and the ‘TOP 100’ chart — an indicator of strong public reception.

Currently, MEOVV is actively promoting ‘HANDS UP’, and fans can look forward to more as their debut EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’ drops on May 12. The EP will feature the title track ‘DROP TOP’, heralding the next phase in what is shaping up to be a breakout year for the group.

With their exciting sound and eye-catching choreography, MEOVV is quickly proving to be a fresh force in the K-pop world.
