K-Drama Icon Song Joong-ki Prepares for Floral Role in Upcoming JTBC Series ‘My Youth’

South Korean actor Song Joong-ki is diving deep into character for his upcoming role in the Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) drama ‘My Youth’, taking on an unexpected path—becoming a florist. The transformation isn’t just for show; Song has spent months honing his skills in flower arranging to authentically portray his character, Sunwoo Hae, a man who embraces a new life as a florist.

On June 16, a professional florist shared a heartfelt tribute to Song on social media. “Actor Song Joong-ki has been taking floral classes with me since last summer,” the caption read, paired with candid photos of the actor completely engrossed in flower arrangement activities. In another image, Song poses radiantly with the florist in front of a beautifully completed floral piece, his youthful appearance belying his status as a father of two.

According to the florist, Song prepared meticulously for ‘My Youth’, learning the fundamentals of floristry step by step. “His sincere passion taught me more than I expected. He was consistently warm-hearted and attentive during our time together,” the florist added, offering well-wishes for the actor’s future endeavors.

‘My Youth’, set to premiere on July 26 on JTBC, tells the story of a man who meets his first love again more than a decade later, reliving the beauty of the most radiant period of his life. Song stars opposite actress Chun Woo-hee, playing a romantic lead in this emotionally rich drama that navigates themes of healing, rediscovery, and second chances.

Off screen, the 38-year-old actor continues to capture hearts. After marrying British actress Katy Louise Saunders in early 2023, the couple welcomed their first son in June that year and recently had a daughter, completing a beautiful new chapter in Song’s personal journey.
