K-Ballad Trio Soonsoonhee Rekindles Nostalgic Friendship with Emotional Single ‘Three Friends’
The beloved South Korean ballad trio Soonsoonhee—comprised of members Gitae, Mirrorball, and Yoon Ji-hwan—has made an emotional return with their brand new single ‘Three Friends’, released on May 9. This marks their musical comeback approximately seven months after their previous sentimental hit, ‘Oppa’ (아는 오빠).
Infused with the warm simplicity of a spring afternoon, ‘Three Friends’ paints a touching picture of shared moments, laughter, and comfort between longtime companions. The poignant lyric, “I miss you, my friend, let’s have a drink of soju with some pork belly,” outlines the nostalgic tone of the track, evoking a universal longing for reunion and emotional connection.
Soonsoonhee has long been praised for their soft musical stylings and ability to capture personal emotions. With this new release, listeners are encouraged to pick up the phone and reconnect with old friends, transporting them back to a time when the presence of one another made everything shine brighter.
This single reunites the renowned trio with celebrated producer Iraeon, known for his work on Soonsoonhee’s past hits like ‘Seomyeon Station’, ‘Haeundae’, and ‘You’re Pierced Into Me (Geunaebak)’. Elevating the production is musician Midnight, whose arrangement work on Lim Young-woong’s ‘Love Always Runs Away’ earned critical acclaim, enriching ‘Three Friends’ with both depth and clarity.
Speaking on the release, the group shared, “The title ‘Three Friends’ alone has the power to warm our hearts. We hope this song becomes the bridge between you and an old friend, sparking memories worth reliving.”
Soonsoonhee continues their rise as Korea’s trusted emotional vocal group. With every release consistently charting, including ‘Seomyeon Station’, ‘Haeundae’, and ‘You’re Pierced Into Me’, ‘Three Friends’ further cements their legacy as undeniable powerhouses in the K-ballad scene.
