K-Actress Yoon Jin Shares Her Proven Sleep Training Tips for Newborns

South Korean actress Yoon Jin reveals how she successfully sleep trained her newborn daughter Jennie

South Korean actress Yoon Jin, known for her candid parenting insights, recently celebrated a major win—sleep training success with her second daughter, Jennie. On June 13, the YouTube channel ‘Real Yoon Jin’ released a video titled ‘We’ll Teach You How to Sleep-Train Your Baby Right’, offering practical advice for parents dealing with newborn sleep troubles.

“We finally did it. Jennie’s sleep training is a success!” Yoon Jin expressed with joy in the video, sharing her journey with her husband Kim Tae Geun. Appearing visibly relieved, Kim commented, “You look better. We’ve reclaimed our freedom,” as both laughed about their newfound rest.

Yoon Jin highlighted how getting proper sleep herself drastically improved her mental health, saying, “Now that I sleep, my mood has completely shifted.” The actress added that successful sleep training included practices like sleep separation—Jennie now sleeps soundly for 6 to 7 hours straight.

She shared three essential tools for effective sleep training: a pacifier, a Swaddle Up, and white noise. Yoon Jin advised, “Play white noise via your phone, and make sure you sleep when the baby does. Don’t use the phone for other things during that time.”

Apart from the sleep essentials, Yoon Jin pointed out the importance of maintaining a fixed wake-up schedule and gave tips like rotating the baby bottle in one direction to reduce air intake. She also demonstrated how to burp a baby between feeds to promote uninterrupted sleep afterward.

She encouraged daily ‘Tummy Time’ sessions—three times a day—to help the baby build neck strength, and asserted, “If your baby is engaging well with the mobile, don’t interfere. Let them explore on their own.”

Reflecting on their early parenting days, Kim recalled, “We used to hold the baby non-stop,” while Yoon Jin added, “I used to keep her in the baby wrap. She’d cry the moment I put her down.” Now, with experience and strategy, she remarked playfully, “I want to be born with this mindset in my next life!” Her husband jokingly asked if she’d meet him again in that life, to which she tenderly replied, “Of course, I’d do even better next time.”

Yoon Jin married finance professional Kim Tae Geun in 2022. They welcomed their first daughter, Jay, in 2023 and their second daughter, Jennie, earlier this February. Her story is resonating with new parents globally who are seeking realistic and emotionally honest parenting solutions.
