JYP Entertainment’s Rising Boy Band NEXZ Reveals Adorable Mascot Universe ‘NEXZOO’
K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment is tapping into a fresh wave of storytelling with its new boy group NEXZ. After making a splash earlier in February with their charming animal mascot lineup NEXZOO, the group is now back with a deeper dive into their universe.
On April 20, NEXZ took to their official social media to unveil a special video titled ‘[NEXZOO] My Name is!’, introducing the unique names of each of the group’s seven animal mascots. The video opens with a movie-poster-like still proclaiming ‘Lost Puppy’ and ‘NEXZOO DEBUT,’ teasing fans before revealing the playful characters inspired by each member’s personality and features.
Fans were treated to the cute debuts of PPOMOYA, JELLY-YU, HARUBEAR, GEONSKY, SEIDEE, HYUROMI, and YUTIE — whimsical monikers that reflect each member’s identity in an endearing form. The mascots serve not just as fanbait, but as key touchpoints in the NEXZ multiverse, connecting the group’s visuals, storytelling, and audience engagement.
Adding depth to this creative universe is the new animated content ‘Hi there, FOX2Y!’, where NEXZ introduces FOX2Y, a guardian-like figure that embodies the very spirit of NEXZ. This protective, celestial mascot supports the group’s colorful energy and is expected to play a larger role as their journey unfolds.
Meanwhile, the group is set to make a powerful comeback with their second mini-album ‘O-RLY?’ on April 28 at 6 PM KST. The album features a variety of tracks including the title song ‘O-RLY?’, as well as ‘Simmer,’ ‘Want More? One More!’, ‘Run With Me,’ ‘Slo-mo’, and a CD-only track titled ‘Z Side_250226.’
NEXZ is quickly carving out a unique identity in the saturated K-pop scene by combining their musical prowess with inventive visual storytelling. Whether through heartwarming mascots or high-energy tracks, this rookie boy group is proving they’re anything but ordinary.
