‘Jungle Bob 2: Caribbean Bob’ Explores the Dangerous Delicacies of the Caribbean Sea

Kim Ok bin injured while hunting seafood and Yoon Nam no turns lionfish into tempura

This Thursday night, SBS’s survival cooking variety show ‘Jungle Bob 2 – Caribbean Bob’ returns with an exhilarating episode as its stars delve into the culinary treasures of the Dominican Republic.

Celebrity chef Yoon Nam-no, nicknamed the ‘crazy cook,’ pulls out all the stops to showcase a hidden signature dish. Known for his expertise in Japanese cuisine, Yoon reveals that his first and most confident recipe was the Fried Meal Set (Tempura)—and he’s about to elevate it using one of the Caribbean Sea’s most exotic fish: the venomous Lionfish.

Despite its deadly spines, Yoon sets his sights on transforming this fearsome marine predator into an exceptional Fish and Chips dish. Will the gamble pay off, or will the danger outweigh the flavor? It’s a culinary duel you don’t want to miss.

Meanwhile, action actress Kim Ok-bin, dubbed the ‘Jungle Warrior,’ proves there’s no limit to her dedication. From diving into perilous Amazon jungles to braving the depths of the Caribbean Sea, she’s done it all. During one dive reaching 20 meters deep, Kim suddenly experiences severe eye pain and partial vision loss post-emersion, prompting an emergency halt in filming and an immediate trip to the hospital.

The scene left both the crew and studio members on edge, showcasing the unforgiving nature of nature’s kitchen—and Kim’s unwavering courage to embrace it head-on.

In the latter half of the episode, the culinary adventure continues as the cast travels to Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and the sacred ground of traditional barbecue. Anticipation builds as Chef Yoon introduces his gourmet take on Japanese-style grilled meat using the rare inner cut from a cow’s tongue—a selection known as gyutan, limited to just 300 grams from a 700 kg cow.

The chef plans to bring out the meat’s robust umami with a secret, all-purpose tare sauce—a versatile glaze often used in Japanese grilling. As tempting flavors ignite the set, viewers are sure to crave more of Yoon’s one-of-a-kind Yakiniku feast.

From venomous sea creatures to flame-grilled perfection, ‘Jungle Bob 2 – Caribbean Bob’ serves up the ultimate survival-meets-gastronomy challenge this Thursday at 9 PM on SBS.
