Jung Kyung-ho Takes on a New Professional Role in Fantasy Drama ‘Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin’
Veteran Korean actor Jung Kyung-ho is expanding his versatile career once more — this time as a ghost-seeing labor attorney in the new MBC fantasy drama Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin.
Known for his compelling portrayals of diverse professional roles — including a detective in Life on Mars, a correctional officer in Prison Playbook, a dedicated doctor in Hospital Playlist, and a quirky private instructor in Hit the Top — Jung is returning to the small screen to showcase yet another side of his acting prowess.
Premiering May 30, Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin is a unique blend of comedy, fantasy, and workplace drama. The series follows Moo-jin, portrayed by Jung, a labor attorney who unexpectedly gains the ability to see ghosts. With his unorthodox talent, he tackles unresolved labor issues brought to him by restless spirits.
This whimsical narrative introduces the rarely spotlighted profession of a labor attorney and merges it with supernatural elements, promising viewers both laughs and heartfelt moments. Jung’s nuanced performance — seamlessly shifting between deadpan delivery and slapstick comedy — has already intrigued fans through three teaser trailers.
In one moment, Jung’s character fluently recites labor safety laws while scruffily navigating hazardous worksites; in another, he listens with empathy to ghosts’ poignant backstories, gradually embracing his reluctant role and growing into his new calling with passion and sincerity.
Joining Jung are Seol In-ah and Cha Hak-yeon, forming the trio nicknamed “Moo-jin’s Team,” whose chemistry adds to the ensemble’s appeal. Together, they ensure the drama will be both emotionally resonant and endlessly entertaining.
The series also marks the Korean cinematic maestro Lim Soon-rye’s first foray into television direction. With screenwriting led by D.P.‘s Kim Botong and films like My Love, My Bride and I Can Speak writer Yoo Seung-hee, the creative synergy promises to elevate this Friday-Saturday drama into something truly memorable.
As anticipation builds, one thing’s for sure: Jung Kyung-ho is set to deliver another unforgettable performance, solidifying his status as Korea’s go-to actor for captivating professional characters.
