Jung Kook of BTS Sets Historic Milestone With ‘Seven’ on Billboard and Spotify

BTS Jung Kook achieves 94 week record on global charts with Seven solo debut

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) member Jung Kook (Jeon Jung-kook) continues to carve his place in music history with record-breaking chart performances. According to the latest Billboard chart dated May 3, his debut solo single ‘Seven’ ranked No. 128 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 74 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

Since its release in July 2023, ‘Seven’ has continued its unprecedented run, marking the longest-charting song by an Asian solo artist with 92 weeks on the Billboard Global 200 and 93 weeks on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.

Previously, ‘Seven’ topped the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for 9 consecutive weeks and the Global 200 for 7 consecutive weeks. It was the first and longest-standing song by an Asian artist to simultaneously top both charts for 7 straight weeks.

Jung Kook has also seen massive success with follow-up tracks like ‘Standing Next To You’ and ‘3D’, which also hit No.1 on both Billboard global charts.

Not stopping there, he became the first K-pop solo act to debut at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, staying on the chart for 15 weeks. In the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, ‘Seven’ debuted at No.3 and remained on the chart for 14 weeks — another record for a K-pop solo act.

On Spotify, ‘Seven’ continues to break records by staying on the Weekly Top Songs Global chart for 94 consecutive weeks, making it the longest-charting song by an Asian soloist.

Its global appeal was further recognized when it was named No.1 on Billboard’s 2023 Global Summer Songs list and topped the 2024 International Power Players list as the most popular song across over 200 territories worldwide (excluding the US).

Jung Kook’s success proves not only his individual star power beyond BTS but also the rising global influence of K-pop soloists. ‘Seven’ is more than just a hit — it’s a cultural phenomenon.
