Jo Yoon-hee Radiates Charm in Behind-the-Scenes Stills of ‘Drinking Buddy’

Jo Yoon-hee is back on the small screen with her signature radiant smile and relatable energy in the upcoming tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Drinking Buddy.

On June 8th, her agency, King Kong by Starship, unveiled several behind-the-scenes stills of Jo as she gears up to play the character Han Hyun-joo. The highly anticipated series is penned by Myung Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun, directed by Jang Yu-jung, and produced by Studio Dragon in collaboration with How Pictures.

Drinking Buddy tells the story of a woman who proudly considers herself a ‘sensible drinker’ until she reunites with her first love—a man who despises alcohol. This fateful meeting leads her to take on her first-ever sobriety challenge, setting the stage for a ‘sober state romance’.

Jo takes on the role of Han Hyun-joo, the eldest daughter in a family of heavy drinkers and the mother of twins. As the older sister of Han Geum-joo (played by Choi Soo-young), Jo is expected to deliver a warm, sisterly chemistry while realistically portraying the exhausting, chaotic everyday life of a twin mom. Her performance is anticipated to strike a relatable chord with viewers.

The released photos showcase Jo Yoon-hee with a chic, wavy brown bob and a cheerful, down-to-earth vibe. In one shot, she flashes a bright smile that instantly lifts the mood, while in another, she fiercely clutches a beer bottle, as if declaring war on alcohol—hinting at the determination her character brings to the drama’s central theme of sobriety.
