Netflix original K-drama Tangeum stars Jo Bo-ah and Lee Jae-wook in a moving sibling mystery

The Netflix original series ‘Tangeum’ (Swallowing Gold / Dear Hongrang) is set to premiere on June 16 at 4 PM KST, and anticipation is rising following a press conference held on the morning of June 13 in Seoul.

Actors Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah, Jung Ga-ram, Uhm Ji-won, Park Byeong-eun, and director Kim Hong-sun were present to introduce the new mystery melodrama set in the Joseon Dynasty.

Jo Bo-ah shared her reasons for joining the series, stating, “The sibling bond portrayed in ‘Tangeum’ really touched me. I’ve always had a close and loving relationship with my younger sibling, and I was drawn to the idea of expressing a sister’s longing and emotional depth.”

When asked about working with co-star Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah responded with praise, “He brought an admirable attitude to the set. I could feel his genuine passion for acting and his character, which made me respect and learn from him even more.”

‘Tangeum’ tells the enigmatic story of Hongrang (played by Lee Jae-wook), the lost heir of Joseon’s grandest merchant family, who returns home after vanishing for 12 years with no memory. The only one who suspects his true identity is his half-sister Jae-yi (played by Jo Bo-ah), and the drama explores the unexplainable emotions that arise between them.

With its mysterious plotline, emotionally complex characters, and a top-tier cast, ‘Tangeum’ is poised to captivate global audiences with its premiere this June.
