Jin of BTS Captivates on Jimmy Fallon with Solemn Ballad and Sharp Humor
BTS member Jin made a grand return to American late-night television as he appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on the 22nd of this month (KST). This marks his comeback to the show after approximately six months since his solo performance last November.
Host Jimmy Fallon warmly greeted him with a cheerful, “Welcome back,” setting the tone for a vibrant and fun conversation. Their chat naturally veered toward Jin’s latest adventures, including his humorous encounter with Tom Cruise on his Korean variety show 달려라 석진, delighting the studio audience.
The highlight of their chemistry came when Fallon jokingly invited Jin to host the show. Jin cheekily accepted, switched seats, and said, “Thank you for coming to my show,” provoking laughter with his effortless wit.
Bringing levity and sharp banter, Jin also posed playful riddles to Fallon, showing off his comedic instincts. The energy stayed high as the discussion turned to Jin’s upcoming solo fan concert tour, #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, beginning on June 28 in Goyang, South Korea. Jin teased, “Please look forward to my vocals, but most of all, my face,” drawing cheers from the audience.
However, the evening’s most memorable moment came during Jin’s performance of his latest solo title track, Don’t Say You Love Me. On a minimal stage designed like a cozy bedroom, Jin delivered the heartfelt ballad with sweet yet delicate vocals, perfectly complemented by a live band. The emotional impact resonated across the studio and deeply moved fans worldwide.
Adding to his busy schedule, Jin took part in a lighting event at the Empire State Building on the evening of the 21st to mark the key color of his song Echo, illuminating the New York skyline. On the 23rd, he will connect more intimately with fans at a special event titled Hi-Seokjin, also in New York.
Jin’s #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR will include stops in nine cities including Chiba and Osaka in Japan, Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, and Newark in the U.S., as well as London in the UK and Amsterdam in the Netherlands, totaling 18 shows worldwide.
