Jeong Dong-won and Kim Jun-su Showcase Heartwarming Friendship on ‘Four-Seat Table’

Jeong Dong-won opens up about his friendship with Kim Jun-su and his journey as JD1 artist

Rising multi-talented star Jeong Dong-won recently appeared on ‘Four-Seat Table’, a celebrity documentary show aired on Channel A. The episode featured Kim Jun-su, a beloved artist known for both his K-pop career and musical theater performances. The two shared a sincere brotherly bond before the cameras, drawing admiration from fans.

Sitting alongside musical actors Son Jun-ho and Kim Hyung-jun of SS501, Jeong Dong-won expressed gratitude for Kim Jun-su’s mentorship. He revealed that his K-pop alter ego JD1 was born from Jun-su’s advice. “I got to perform multiple musical numbers at my concert because of him,” Jeong stated.

Encouraging versatility, Kim Jun-su applauded Jeong’s capability in both trot and K-pop, saying, “You’re doing really well. No need to limit yourself by genre. Keep an open mind.”

Jeong further wowed the cast with an impressive vocal impersonation of Kim Jun-su’s song ‘Love is Like a Snowflake’, demonstrating uncanny accuracy and earning warm reactions.

The pair’s bond dates back to their Mr. Trot days, where Jun-su mentored the then-teenager. Jeong emotionally recalled, “When I first came to Seoul and had no friends, he treated me with genuine care—took me to the pool, saunas, and even shopping. That meant a lot to me.”

Now emerging as a versatile “hexagon artist,” Jeong Dong-won continues to shine—releasing his second studio album ‘The Gift of Daddy-Long-Legs’ in March and actively performing under JD1. He’s also embarking on his nationwide concert tour titled ‘Jeong Dong-won Story’, with stops in Seongnam (May 10–11), Suwon (May 24–25), and Daejeon (May 31–June 1).
