Jeon Hyeon-mu, Kwak Jun-bin, and Lee Hyun-yi Explore Authentic Chinese Cuisine in Incheon

Jeon Hyeonmu Lee Hyunyi and Kwak Junbin discover hidden Chinese food spots in Incheon

In the latest episode of ‘Jeon Hyeon-mu Plan 2’, airing jointly on Maeil Broadcasting Network (MBN) and Channel S, television personality Jeon Hyeon-mu and YouTuber Kwak Jun-bin (a.k.a. Gwak-tube) team up with model and entertainer Lee Hyun-yi for an epic food trip in Incheon. Episode 28, which airs on June 9 at 9:10 PM, promises a unique twist on traditional food documentaries, diving into authentic Chinese cuisine far from the usual Chinatown destinations.

Titled “Tastier Incheon,” the episode kicks off as the trio opts to ditch touristy hotspots, seeking out a truly local Chinese dining experience. Soon after, Jeon cleverly lands a table at a hidden gem, only to be shocked when he discovers the absence of Korea’s go-to Chinese dishes—jjajangmyeon and jjamppong—on the menu.

The restaurant owner emphasizes his dedication to authentic Chinese cooking, stating, “I started this restaurant thinking authenticity should be different.” He recommends dishes like pork meatballs, stir-fried clams, and battered shrimp, setting the stage for a flavorful adventure.

In a surprise twist, Jeon reveals he had a call from celebrity chef Lim Tae-hoon, known for his “black-and-white chef” persona, hinting at changes in the flavor of a once-popular dish, Dongpo pork. The episode escalates as Jeon makes a live call to Lim, leaving viewers curious about the behind-the-scenes conversation.

As the food tasting begins, Lee is visibly moved by the flavors, exclaiming, “This makes me think of my husband and child.” When asked by Kwak Jun-bin if she cooks at home, she candidly responds, “Honestly, I can’t cook. I really suck at it. But since relying on food delivery isn’t healthy, I recently started cooking.”

The episode not only showcases vibrant Chinese cuisine in Korea but also reveals more personal sides of its celebrity cast. Their savory expedition—highlighted by seasonal specialties like spring octopus with shepherd’s purse—is set to captivate viewers hungry for authentic flavor and heartfelt moments.
