Jannabi Shares Heartfelt Gratitude After Releasing ‘Sound of Music pt.1’

Choi Jung-hoon from Jannabi shares gratitude to aespa Karina and crew after album drop

Beloved South Korean indie band Jannabi has ushered in a new era with the release of their fourth full-length album, Sound of Music pt.1, which dropped on May 28th. The album doesn’t just mark a musical milestone for the band, but also became a celebration of collaboration and heartfelt gratitude.

Soon after the album’s release, frontman Choi Jung-hoon took to his personal Instagram to express sincere thanks to fans, staff, and collaborators who contributed to the record. Balancing his characteristic wit with deep emotions, Choi wrote, “We’re timid and fearful, so we need a good dose of praise,” capturing the humility that fans have loved for years.

He went on to reflect, “Our musical journey still has many exciting chapters ahead—and this moment was undoubtedly one of them.” Choi highlighted the extensive list of contributors, ranging from session musicians to engineers, stylists, and directors, stressing that the album was a collective effort built on passion and dedication.

One name that stood out in Choi’s message was aespa’s Karina, who featured on the album’s title track, In the Name of Love! “Even with her packed schedule, she poured sincerity into every line,” Choi said. “Do-hyung and I were both incredibly moved and inspired. I’ll be cheering her on as a fan from the sidelines.”

The song In the Name of Love! explores the fleeting clarity and preciousness of shared affection and has already resonated deeply with fans. Since its release, the track climbed rapidly up the Melon HOT100 and Bugs real-time charts, signaling commercial success alongside its emotional depth.

Fans praised the unexpected synergy between Jannabi and Karina, dubbing it a “romantic fantasy song perfect for early summer” and “the ultimate fusion of two unique vocal timbres.”

Looking ahead, Jannabi is set to perform their solo concert series All Boys and Girls 2025 at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium on June 3rd and 4th. The tour continues in Gwangju at the Gwangju Universiade Gymnasium on June 14–15, and in Daegu at Daegu Exco on the 28th and 29th. Through these live performances, Jannabi aims to reaffirm their belief that “music is not a fantasy, but a living reality.”
