IVE’s ‘1.2.3 IVE’ Season 6 Brings Campus Queens to Life with Viral Charm
K-pop girl group IVE — composed of members An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Won-young, Liz, and Leeseo — is melting hearts around the world once again with their upgraded charm in season 6 of their beloved YouTube variety series 1.2.3 IVE.
On June 9, Starship Entertainment released the first episode of the new season on IVE’s official YouTube channel. The idols transformed into campus queens from around the globe, competing in a spirited survival game to claim the cover of a fictional magazine titled College: The Day After Tomorrow.
The members took on quirky character roles: An Yu-jin as a Californian cheerleader, Gaeul in culinary arts, Rei as a fashion design major, Jang Won-young as a ballet student, Liz in classical singing, and Leeseo as an ice hockey queen. Their hilarious, immersive portrayals instantly captivated fans.
To become the cover model, they had to complete a “Calendar Photoshoot” mission in pairs. Team selection yielded three duos: An Yu-jin & Leeseo, Gaeul & Jang Won-young, and Rei & Liz.
The next challenge? Winning stylish S/S and F/W props through two mini-games — ‘Red Light, Green Light’ and a curling match. Gaeul and Jang Won-young emerged as top players receiving premium items, while Rei & Liz came in second, and An Yu-jin & Leeseo took the basic tier.
Despite receiving fewer props, An Yu-jin turned the tide with quick wit, parodying junior group KiiiKii’s debut track I Do Me using a ladybug prop and humorously declaring, “Ladybug power~.”
During the photoshoot, the production banned close-up selfies, prompting playful protests from the glamorous idols. “But that’s part of our talent!” laughed Jang Won-young, while An Yu-jin added cheekily, “Our faces are weapons.”
Each team showcased unique concepts: Gaeul & Jang Won-young delivered editorial-like visuals using flowers and graduation props. Rei & Liz flashed trendy poses and dual-camera shots with personalized edits by Rei. Meanwhile, An Yu-jin & Leeseo leaned into humor with red chili peppers and traditional percussion instruments for energetic scenes.
After review, it was An Yu-jin & Leeseo who claimed the overall win. “Real queens only settle for magazine covers. This is such an honor!” declared Yu-jin in character, with Gaeul teasing her, “For a queen, those photos are hilarious.” Yu-jin replied, “Queens have to be funny too — not just pretty.”
Meanwhile, IVE’s third mini-album IVE Empathy, released in February, showcased their transition from self-confidence to the message of empathy. The album’s title tracks “Rebel Heart” and “Attitude” earned them 15 music show wins and the prestigious title of Most Influential Female Idol at the 2025 Brand Loyalty Awards.
New episodes of 1.2.3 IVE Season 6 are released every Friday at 7:30 PM KST on IVE’s official YouTube channel.
