Behind the scenes of The Haunted Palace reveal Yook Sungjae and Kim Jiyeons growing romance

The undeniable chemistry between Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon in SBS’s new hit fantasy drama ‘The Haunted Palace’ is stealing the hearts of viewers, and new behind-the-scenes stills are only elevating the excitement.

On June 7, the production team behind the SBS Friday-Saturday Drama released exclusive photos capturing the heart-fluttering energy between the two lead actors on set.

The Haunted Palace‘ tells the mystical tale of Yeo-ri, a shaman who rejects her supernatural fate, and Kangchool-ie, a mythical Imoogi trapped in the body of Yeo-ri’s first love, Yoon Kap. The show artfully mixes fantasy, body-switching hijinks, and romantic entanglement as the characters face off against ancient vengeful spirits within the royal palace.

In episode 6, Kangchool-ie’s emotional turmoil reaches a turning point as he realizes that the sensations he feels—his racing heart and obsessive longing—aren’t just supernatural side effects but genuine love for Yeo-ri.

The newly released stills offer a glimpse into the duo’s off-screen rapport. Whether they’re sitting close during downtime, reviewing scenes shoulder-to-shoulder, or sharing laughs and playful poses—including a couple’s cheek-heart gesture—their mutual comfort and charisma are palpable.

With their romantic plot taking off and fan responses growing ever more enthusiastic, expectations are high for episode 7 of ‘The Haunted Palace’, airing at 9:55 PM KST on June 9.
