Honey J Defeated by MOTIV’s Leader in World Street Woman Fighter

A Dance Battle Between Cultures
The Showdown on World Street Woman Fighter
On the 27th, Mnet’s “World Street Woman Fighter” showcased an international showdown in a pointed battle of dance crews. The first battle of the night featured Korea’s Honey J, leader of the dance team BUMSUP, as she challenged Mali, the leader of America’s MOTIV.
Mali’s Bold Words
Mali taunted Honey J, stating that “We’re from where hip-hop originated. From what I’ve seen, there’s nothing I can’t do.” She continued, “Honey J feels commercial, but our hip-hop has deeper roots.”
Honey J’s Response
Honey J responded fiercely, “I bear the responsibility of representing Korea. There’s no one way to do hip-hop, and I’ll show you how well Korea does it.”
Both dancers gave their all in a performance filled with electrifying energy and artistic flair. Mali later claimed, “I felt confident because I know what I just did.”
Judges’ Verdict
Judge Mike Song commented on the battle, emphasizing the quality of movements but noted Mali’s poise and improvisation. Another judge, Aliya Janell, praised Honey J’s energy, stating, “She brought genuine battle fervor.”
Ultimately, the judges’ decision landed unanimously in Mali’s favor, with a 3-0 victory.
Mixed Feelings From the Defeated
Famed producer Park Jin-young noted that Honey J seemed tense in her performance, and Honey J herself admitted, “I was too intense and let the pressure get the better of me.”
