High Boys Bring Youthful Vibes to ‘M Countdown’ with TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Soobin and Yeonjun
The fictional K-pop group High Boys, born from the popular tvN spin-off drama Resident Playbook, is stepping onto a real stage. On June 22, the group will appear on Mnet’s M Countdown to perform their emotional track “The Day Has Come.”
According to M Countdown producers, the performance will feature actor Kang Youseok alongside TOMORROW X TOGETHER members Soobin and Yeonjun. The trio is set to deliver a dynamic and emotionally charged performance themed around youth and growth, reminiscent of the coming-of-age narratives found in Resident Playbook.
Fans were thrilled after M Countdown teased the stage on their official social media, posting behind-the-scenes shots of Kang Youseok, Soobin, and Yeonjun captioned, “They’re here, finally! High Boys return after 12 years. Hi my boys. Hi Hello Girls,” referencing the fictional group Hello Girls in the same universe.
Resident Playbook follows the story of young medical residents navigating their careers and emotions, serving as a spin-off to the hit drama Hospital Playlist. The character Im Jae-il (played by Kang Youseok), a former idol now turned OB-GYN resident, reveals his past as a member of the one-hit-wonder idol group High Boys, under the stage name UMJE.
This M Countdown appearance marks the transition of High Boys from fictional fame to real-life K-pop spectacle, offering fans a bittersweet encore as Resident Playbook nears its conclusion. Kang Youseok impresses not only with his acting but also with his live performance alongside K-pop heavyweights Soobin and Yeonjun.
Catch the unmissable performance on Mnet’s M Countdown, airing June 22 at 6 PM.
