Heartwarming Moments and Star Power Shine in KBS2’s ‘Gaojeong’
On the May 23rd broadcast of KBS2’s reality-variety show ‘Ganeun Jeong Oneun Jeong Lee Min-jung’ (shortened as ‘Gaojeong’), audiences witnessed the continuation of a heartfelt story featuring the show’s regular cast—affectionately called the Jeong siblings.
Cast members, including renowned actress Lee Min-jung, and entertainers Boom, Kim Jung-hyun, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Kim Jae-won, embarked on day two of their selfless mission to bring warmth and comfort to a rural village. After operating a pop-up convenience store from a luxury supercar to serve the needs of the community, the Jeong siblings took it a step further by cooking meals entirely from scratch for the villagers.
The initiative wasn’t without challenges. Despite unexpected setbacks and fierce winds brought on by a storm warning, the cast rallied together to serve a meal for 100 people using food purchased with personal funds. Lee Min-jung impressed not only the viewers but also the residents with her culinary skills, notably with her perfectly crispy fried silchi (sand lance fish). Her poise and sense of humor even shone through when she jokingly dismissed a call from husband Lee Byung-hun, assuring him there was “no break time here.”
Later in the episode, the show teased a guest appearance by rising star Lee Jun-young, known for his musical and dance prowess, igniting excitement for the upcoming episodes.
‘Gaojeong’ remains a strong example of variety television with a heartwarming twist—emphasizing compassion, community, and the rippling power of shared kindness. As the Jeong siblings reflected on the memories made, both cast and locals were left with experiences they would cherish for a lifetime.
