Han Yoo-eun Radiates Versatility in ‘Spring of Youth’
Rising Korean actress Han Yoo-eun recently showcased her beauty and style in a captivating photoshoot with bnt, portraying various moods ranging from elegance to purity. Currently starring in the drama ‘Spring of Youth’ (also known as ‘Spring of the Four Seasons’), Han takes on the role of ‘Georgina,’ a producer behind a major K-pop idol group. Her calm yet powerful charisma has captivated audiences since the drama’s premiere.
In a candid interview, Han expressed, “It’s my first major role, so I had a lot of pressure, but thanks to the support of the staff, I managed to pull through.” She shared that the shooting environment was filled with energy thanks to the passionate director. Though the set-based shooting didn’t allow for frequent interactions with many cast members, she gratefully acknowledged veteran actors Jo Han Chul and Kim Jong Tae for their guidance and support.
On her character ‘Georgina,’ Han revealed some similarities. “I’m not as confident or carefree as her, but I do share her determination—when I’m certain about something, I stick with it to the end.”
Han’s journey into acting began when she was in high school. Inspired by Kim Go-eun’s performance in the hit drama ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ (also known as ‘Goblin’), Han decided to pursue acting professionally and enrolled in an acting school shortly thereafter.
She recently found herself emotionally moved by the Netflix series ‘Ahn Eun Jin’s Fool Me Once’ (Korean title: ‘폭싹 속았수다’). “Every actor’s performance deeply resonated with me,” she said. “Since my parents live in Jeju, the physical and emotional distance reflected in the show hit home. I watched it while crying—thinking of my parents.”
Looking ahead, Han is eager to take on diverse roles that break genre boundaries. “I’d love to play a complete villain, a psychopath, or even a killer. On the other hand, I’d also enjoy acting in a comedy sitcom as a quirky character.”
Confident and grounded, Han addressed her unique voice, something she once saw as a weakness. “My voice is thin and high-pitched, so I used to worry it wasn’t suited for acting. But now I see it as an asset—it’s uncommon and distinctive.”
With hopes of earning the Best New Actress award, Han often imagines delivering her acceptance speech. “I watch acceptance speeches by senior actors, and they move me deeply. That dream gives me strength and motivation. I want to stand on that stage one day and thank my parents.”
Closing the interview, Han expressed her long-term dream: “I want to be an enduring actress—someone who never gives up and keeps acting with perseverance for many years.”
