Ha Jung-woo Surprises Taiwanese Fans with Special Appearance for ‘Lobby’ Screening

Veteran South Korean actor and director Ha Jung-woo surprised fans in Taiwan with a special Q&A event and guest appearance to celebrate the local release of his latest directorial project, Lobby. The event, held in Taipei on April 26, was part of a promotional campaign for the film’s regional theater rollout across Asia.

According to his agency, Walkhouse Company, Ha traveled to Taiwan to participate in a guest visit (GV) session and stage greetings with audiences. This marks his first official visit to Taiwan in over six years since his appearance for PMC: The Bunker, drawing considerable media and fan attention.

What makes this appearance even more notable is that it was directly proposed by Ha himself as a surprise thank-you gesture for his loyal Taiwanese fanbase. Known for his genuine fan engagement, Ha’s gesture follows a series of personal interactions with his supporters, including a free birthday fan meeting held in March.

Lobby, starring and directed by Ha Jung-woo, is gaining positive traction internationally. Its global expansion includes premieres in Vietnam (April 18), Australia and New Zealand (April 24), Taiwan (April 25), and upcoming releases in Mongolia, Japan (July 26), and across Southeast Asia including Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Additionally, the film has secured international in-flight screening rights, further boosting its global visibility.

With promotions for Lobby wrapping up, Ha Jung-woo is now setting his sights on future projects, reaffirming his standing as both an actor and filmmaker with a keen sense for international audiences.
