Good Boy: Park Bo-gum Leads a Vivid Ensemble in JTBC’s New Action Comedy Series

JTBCs Good Boy drama features Park Bo gum and Olympic Avengers police action comedy team

South Korean broadcaster JTBC is back with a fresh weekend drama that promises laughter, thrills, and heart. ‘Good Boy’, set to premiere on May 31 at 10:40 PM KST, pulls together an all-star lineup including Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok.

‘Good Boy’ combines explosive action, a dose of comic relief, and moral intrigue. The plot centers around elite Olympic medalists who are fast-tracked into police work. As they transition from sports icons to crime-fighting officers, they find themselves battling societal corruption with their new badge-wielding roles. They’re dubbed the ‘Olympic Avengers’, or ‘Goodvengers’, and their synergy brings both laughs and intense showdowns with mysterious enemies.

Park Bo-gum stars as Yoon Dong-joo, a former national athlete turned charming yet stoic officer. His multifaceted performance anchors the show as he navigates emotional depth, comedic timing, and adrenaline-fueled action sequences. Alongside him, Kim So-hyun, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok create an unorthodox but effective task force confronting shadowy villains.

The trailer teases a particular highlight—veteran actor Oh Jung-se plays customs officer Min Joo-young, who stunningly evolves into the series’ unexpected antagonist, nicknamed the ‘Bad Boy’. His role introduces critical tension, switching up the team dynamic and pushing the plot into darker territory.

Directed by Shim Na-yeon of Monstrous and Bad Mom fame, and penned by Lee Dae-il, the creative mind behind Life on Mars and The Aide, ‘Good Boy’ balances genre play and character development. Its global reach through Amazon Prime Video offers an opportunity for international audiences to witness a rare blend of comedy, justice, and K-drama flair.

Prepare for a thrilling weekend ride as ‘Good Boy’ blurs the lines between heroism and recklessness, featuring action-packed sequences and character-driven storytelling. JTBC and Amazon deliver a series that’s both meaningful and pure entertainment.
