Gong Hyo-jin Opens Up About Marriage, Career, and Honest Life Lessons
South Korean actress Gong Hyo-jin offered fans a rare glimpse into her personal life and thoughts in a recent Q&A video titled ‘First Time Doing a Q&A with Gong Hyo-jin’ on her official YouTube channel ‘Dangbungan Gong Hyo-jin’, released on July 4.
In the heartfelt session, she shared details of her travel plans and stated, “This year, I plan to visit Belgium, then Germany, then Amsterdam, and finally head to New York. I’m not going for a whole week, but it’s about going where I haven’t been and preparing to move to the U.S. right after my husband is discharged.”
Gong married singer-songwriter Kevin Oh, who is 10 years younger, in a private ceremony in New York in October 2022. Kevin Oh began his mandatory South Korean military service in December 2022 and is scheduled to be discharged in June 2025.
Addressing questions about their relationship, she said, “We have many couple photos, but we’re not openly sharing them. Even before getting married, we had similar personal boundaries. He remains an artist, and I continue as an actress. Couple photos sometimes look better, but I consciously limit that kind of exposure.”
Professionally, Gong recently wrapped up filming for the movie ‘Gyeongju Trip’ and starred in the tvN drama ‘Ask the Stars’, continuing her prominent on-screen presence.
When asked about skincare treatments, Gong replied, “I only go when the clinic practically begs me to come in. People are surprised I don’t do much. Recently, my main focus has been lifting treatments, pore care, and skin texture tightening.”
She gave thoughtful advice to fans in their mid-20s, saying, “You need good friends at that age. Constantly ask, ‘Am I okay?’ and talk through your worries with people going through similar things. Finding someone you can mutually support makes the journey easier.”
On dealing with annoying individuals in unavoidable situations, Gong humorously advised, “The only solution is to vent to another friend. Ranting to your best friend is the healthiest and cheapest way to manage that stress.”
Gong Hyo-jin’s candid charisma continues to resonate with fans across the globe, offering not just entertainment but also meaningful life insights.
