Girls’ Generation’s Choi Sooyoung Reveals Her Million Miler Status with Korean Air
On June 14, the YouTube channel KODE Code aired a segment of Cellphone KODE featuring K-pop idol and actress Choi Sooyoung and rising actor Ryeoun. The unique concept of the segment had the two stars converse solely via text messages without knowing each other’s identities at first.
In the midst of playful banter, Ryeoun asked, “Do you travel abroad often?” to which Choi Sooyoung responded, “Not as much lately, but I love traveling, so I’ve flown a lot.”
Amused, Ryeoun commented, “You must have a ton of mileage saved. I’m jealous.” Choi then checked if he had the airline app on his phone and asked him about his airline membership status. “Where can I even find my status?” Ryeoun asked before disclosing, “I’m in the SKYPASS Club.”
With a confident laugh, Choi replied, “That’s lower than mine. I’m an MM. Have you heard of a Million Miler?” she teased. The Million Miler designation is a prestigious recognition granted to customers who have flown more than one million miles with airlines such as Korean Air.
Choi Sooyoung continued, “There’s even a rumor that flights won’t take off unless a Million Miler like me is onboard,” making both herself and the viewers laugh. Ryeoun, clearly impressed, respectfully probed, “Mind if I ask your rank in the company… or your age?”
Currently, Choi Sooyoung stars as Hang Keum-joo in the newly premiered Monday-Tuesday drama Drunk in Love on tvN, while Ryeoun recently gained international recognition for his role as Park Hoo-min in Weak Hero Class 2, available in over 190 countries on Netflix.
