(G)I-DLE’s Minnie Delivers Heartfelt Comfort Through New K-Drama OST ‘Breath’

Rising K-pop star and (G)I-DLE’s lead vocalist Minnie is set to touch hearts again with her latest soundtrack, ‘Breath’, for the tvN weekend drama ‘Resident Playbook’ (officially known in Korea as ‘언젠가는 슬기로울 전공의생활’). The track drops on June 26 at 6PM KST across major streaming platforms.

Part of the drama’s OST Part 5, “Breath” serves as a comforting lullaby to young dreamers facing the weight of everyday life. With its soft piano and acoustic guitar arrangement, the minimalist production spotlights Minnie’s ethereal yet refined vocal tone—a sound that has captivated fans worldwide.

The track encapsulates themes of personal growth, emotional healing, and endurance. Its lyrics speak of shedding regret with each exhale and aspiring to become a better version of oneself with every breath drawn. This spiritual message is expected to resonate deeply with youth navigating their own journeys.

Minnie, who has previously contributed to a variety of hit OSTs like ‘My Perfect Secretary’ and ‘Seon-jae Up and Run’, continues to solidify her presence in the Korean drama music scene. Her growing discography reflects her artistic versatility and ability to emotionally connect through sound.

Adding an additional layer of finesse is producer Baek-ah, known for emotional masterpieces in dramas such as ‘Lovers’ and ‘Missing: The Other Side 2’. Baek-ah contributed to writing, composing, and arranging the piece, enhancing both its lyrical quality and musical composition.

‘Resident Playbook’ is a spin-off of the acclaimed medical drama ‘Hospital Playlist’. Created by Sin Won-ho and Lee Woo-jung, with direction by Lee Min-soo and script by Kim Song-hee, the narrative sensitively depicts the growth and camaraderie of first-year medical residents striving to find their path—making it a perfect thematic pairing with Minnie’s reflective track.

As both the show and the soundtrack evoke themes of friendship, aspiration, and resilience, Minnie’s “Breath” becomes more than just a song—it becomes an anthem for everyone persevering through their own chapters of life.
