(G)I-DLE Officially Rebrands as “I-dle”: A New Chapter Begins

Kpop powerhouse I-dle launches rebrand on 7th anniversary introducing new logo and identity

K-Pop’s dynamic quintet has entered a bold new era — (G)I-DLE will now be known simply as I-dle. On July 1st, the group made their official name change announcement across their social media platforms, marking their 7th debut anniversary with a significant transformation that goes beyond a rebranding.

Having debuted on May 2, 2018, the group formerly known as (G)I-DLE made a name for themselves with a unique identity, artistic versatility, and smash hits. Shedding their original name — which included both a gender indicator “(G)” and parentheses — symbolizes I-dle’s desire to redefine themselves without gender boundaries or typographic limitations. The change reflects a move towards a more boundless artistic direction and inclusivity.

The fresh branding also includes a new logo and symbol. Designed with lowercase lettering “i d l e,” the logo features dots expanding into structured forms that use the principles of dot, line, and plane — representing infinite potential and organic connectivity. The star-shaped symbol formed by five ‘i’s highlights the individuality of each member and their unity as one complete I-dle.

After all members renewed their contracts with Cube Entertainment last December, this name change signals more than a shift in branding — it is a declaration of growth, ambition, and evolution. I-dle is ready to return, stronger than ever, with deeper musicality and fortified teamwork.

The group has been beloved globally for hits such as “LATATA,” “Oh my god,” “HWAA,” “TOMBOY,” “Nxde,” and “Queencard.” In 2023, their 2nd Studio Album “2” topped Korean and international charts, spearheaded by the powerful anthem “Super Lady.” The album’s track “I DO” (Korean title: 나는 아픈 건 딱 질색이니까) also surged back onto charts thanks to explosive fan response. In summer 2023, their 7th Mini Album “I SWAY” with the hit track “KLaxon” further cemented their status as global digital chart dominators.

I-dle’s redefined identity sends a clear message: they’re no longer just girls in the K-pop scene — they are limitless creators of culture, ready to shape the future of global music.
