G-Dragon Leads Chart-Topping Comeback with Star-Studded ‘Good Day 2025’
Global K-pop superstar G-Dragon is back in the spotlight, not only as an artist but as a visionary producer. His latest collaborative project, ‘Good Day 2025 (Telepathy + By the Moonlight Window)’, has skyrocketed up South Korea’s top music charts just hours after its release on April 24 at 6 PM KST.
The single, a modernized remake of beloved ’90s hits ‘Telepathy’ and ‘By the Moonlight Window’, debuted at No.3 on Melon’s HOT100 and quickly climbed to the No.1 spot, also reaching No.6 on the platform’s TOP100. On genie and Bugs, the track reached No.2 and No.4, respectively, and topped trending charts on Vibe.
This chart dominance is especially noteworthy given it’s a remake track—a genre often overshadowed by original releases. But with G-Dragon helming the production, it quickly became a sensation, joining the ranks of his earlier 2024 hit ‘TOO BAD (feat. Anderson .Paak)’, which had been reigning the charts since February.
At the heart of the Good Day project is G-Dragon’s desire to “use the power of music for good.” Echoing this vision, an extraordinary lineup of South Korea’s elite entertainers lent their voices including Taeyang, Daesung, CL, Kim Go-eun, Code Kunst, aespa, DAY6, BSS (SEVENTEEN), and more—spearheaded by producer Kim Tae-ho PD.
G-Dragon handpicked Telepathy and By the Moonlight Window as the base, arranging them into a sentimental 2025 version that blends multiple generations. The result is a nostalgic yet vibrant anthem, with soaring vocals from Taeyang and an emotionally charged climax delivered by Hwang Jung-min.
Even comedian and singer Jung Hyung-don added chemistry in the studio, directly influencing production. G-Dragon’s famous line “It’s Good-Day” opens the track, setting the tone for a joyful, love-filled serenade that resonates across generations.
The accompanying music video serves up retro warmth with 90s-style subtitles, lo-fi hues, and real-life voice snippets reminiscent of cassette tapes—all amplifying the track’s nostalgia. Within 14 hours of release, it ranked No.2 on YouTube Korea’s trending music list.
Taking his impact beyond music, G-Dragon and production company TEO announced that a portion of the project’s profits will go to social causes. Already, part of the anticipated revenue was donated to wildfire relief efforts, with more plans to support underprivileged youth.
Fans online are buzzing, praising G-Dragon’s artistry and heartfelt intent: “Only GD can make a remix feel like a brand new anthem,” “I’ll remember 2025 by this song,” and “I missed him dearly, and now he’s back in the most meaningful way.”
